What this app does NOT collect
Spoiler Shield does not collect, transmit, or analyze any of the following:
- Screen Time usage data (launch counts, durations, activity logs).
- Names or bundle IDs of the apps you block. We hold only the opaque
FamilyActivitySelectiontoken issued by iOS. - Web browsing history.
- Device identifiers, IDFA / IDFV, advertising IDs.
- Location.
- Contacts, Calendar, Photos, Health data.
There is no third-party analytics SDK in the app. None of Firebase Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Sentry are bundled. There is no advertising SDK.
What is stored on your device
The App Group UserDefaults on your device holds only:
- Opaque
FamilyActivitySelectiontokens, one per schedule. - A user-provided schedule name, when entered.
- Saved schedule rules and UTC ISO-8601
activeRunStartAt/activeRunEndAtvalues for active schedules.activeRunEndAtexists only when the schedule has a timed end. - A cached authorization status.
- App UI state such as your language preference.
- Diagnostic logs for operational events such as authorization checks, schedule start/stop/recovery, JavaScript errors, and possible previous foreground-session exits. These logs do not include blocked app names, bundle IDs, web domains, Screen Time tokens, or
selectionRef.
This data does not leave the device unless you choose to send diagnostic logs in a support email. Uninstalling the app removes it.
Information sent when you contact support
Diagnostic logs are not sent automatically. Only when you create, review, and send a support email from Settings are recent diagnostic logs, device OS, app version, language, Screen Time authorization status, and the number of saved schedules included in the email body. Blocked app names, bundle IDs, web domains, Screen Time tokens, and selectionRef are not included.
Data retention
- On-device data: removed when you uninstall the app.
- Support email: if you send one, it is retained according to your email provider’s and the operator’s retention policies.
Third-party sharing
The app does not automatically send data to third parties. There are no analytics, advertising, or billing SDKs, and no backend operated by Spoiler Shield. If you send a support email, it is transmitted through the email provider you choose to the operator.
